With such a fantastic Paris itinerary already lined up, we decided to spend our extra pre‑tour day doing something a little different. We took a day trip beyond the city limits. Champagne quickly became the perfect choice. Wandering through the magnificent Reims Cathedral, sampling bubbly from several Champagne houses, and taking in the rolling beauty of the region made for an unforgettable introduction to France. It was the ideal way to ease into our new surroundings. And once we returned to Paris, a nighttime visit to the Eiffel Tower sealed the deal. Watching it sparkle against the dark sky was the perfect way to build excitement for the week of Parisian adventures ahead.
