A Little About Us
This is Us
We’re Tom and Jennifer from Raleigh, North Carolina. We are high‑school acquaintances who reconnected twenty years later and never looked back. Tom is a retired Army veteran who now teaches as a Helicopter Flight Simulator Instructor, and Jennifer is a Subject Matter Expert in Elementary Science, designing curriculum for an international educational, technology company. Together, we’re proud parents of three grown children and devoted companions to our two “almost human” dogs: Crosby the Sheepadoodle and Emmylou the Goldendoodle.
Learning through Travel
Travel has woven itself through both of our lives. During Tom’s military service in Germany, he explored several neighboring countries, sometimes in uniform and sometimes as a curious traveler. Jennifer has adventured across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Amsterdam. As a couple, we’ve wandered through Italy and now, Paris.
Inspired by Rick Steves
For years, we dreamed of returning to Europe. Inspired by Rick Steves...his shows, books, calendars and travel podcast...we finally decided it was time to stop imagining the trip and start taking it. In 2025, we made it happen. And what better way to celebrate our 10‑year wedding anniversary than with an unforgettable journey to the City of Love… the City of Lights… Paris, in all its magic!
